Before your visit
How to prepare
- The tattoo must be fully healed; keep it moisturized in the days before.
- For a few days: no retinoids, acids, scrubs or waxing on the area.
- No sunburn; come with clean, bare skin.
- Doing tattoo removal? Tell me so we can time it safely.
The days after
Downtime and aftercare
- Very little downtime — maybe brief pinkness or sensitivity.
- Keep the area clean and moisturized.
- Skip scrubs and exfoliants until it feels normal; avoid heat and friction that day.
- Protect the tattoo with SPF.
Going forward
How often
- Maintenance more than a series — about once a month.
- Or whenever the skin over your tattoo looks dry, rough or dull.
- Moisturizer and SPF between visits keep it looking its best.
Common questions
Will microdermabrasion fade my tattoo?
No. Once your tattoo is fully healed, microdermabrasion works on the outermost layers of skin, while the ink sits much deeper. We aren't exfoliating the ink away — we're removing dull, dead skin sitting over it, which can actually make the colors and detail look a little brighter.
Does this change my tattoo?
No. This treatment does not alter, replace, or restore tattoo pigment. It removes dull surface buildup so the existing work can show through more clearly.
How healed does the tattoo need to be?
Fully healed only. If your tattoo is recent, wait until it has completely healed before booking.
