The five peels
Clarifying Peel
— best for oily, congested, breakout-prone skin, especially if you're dealing with clogged pores, blackheads, recurring acne or uneven texture from congestion. I choose it when the priority is clearing things out, reducing buildup and helping prevent future breakouts rather than focusing mainly on pigment or anti-aging.
Clear + Correct Peel
— best for breakout-prone skin that also has lingering redness, dark marks, uneven tone or texture from past acne. I choose it when we need to work on both the active congestion and what the breakouts leave behind, instead of treating just one concern.
Brightening Peel
— best for dull, uneven or sun-damaged skin, especially if you're dealing with dark spots, post-acne discoloration, melasma or an overall lack of brightness. I choose it when the main goal is to even out tone, soften visible pigment and bring back a clearer, more luminous look.
Resurfacing Peel
— best for rough texture, fine lines, acne scarring, enlarged pores and skin that just feels uneven or "stuck." I choose it when the main goal is stronger exfoliation and skin renewal to help smooth, refine and improve overall texture over time.
Retinol Peel
— best for sun damage, fine lines, uneven tone, rough texture, enlarged pores and skin that needs a stronger push toward cell turnover and renewal. The results are more delayed than a traditional acid peel: retinol continues working after you leave, so peeling and dryness may show up over the next few days.
How I decide which peel you need
I don't choose a peel just based on one concern. I look at your skin as a whole — what you want to improve, how sensitive or resilient your skin is, your current barrier, medications and homecare, previous treatments, pigment risk, and how much downtime you're comfortable with. Sometimes the peel you want isn't the peel your skin is ready for yet, so we may need to prep the skin or start more conservatively. My goal is always to choose the peel that will give you the best result without creating unnecessary irritation or damage.
Stronger is not always better
A peel doesn't have to be aggressive to be effective. Stronger is not always better, and visible peeling is not the goal by itself. I choose the strength based on your skin, your goals and how well your barrier can handle it.
Some concerns, especially pigment, acne and texture, respond best to a series of treatments rather than trying to do everything in one appointment. We may also need to prep your skin first, especially if you're prone to hyperpigmentation.
And SPF afterward is non-negotiable. Freshly exfoliated skin is more vulnerable to sun exposure, and skipping protection can undo the progress we're trying to make.

Good to know
Before your visit
How to prepare
I want the skin calm and intact.
- Pause retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs and other strong actives for several days.
- No waxing or aggressive hair removal; stay out of excessive sun.
- Tell me about prescriptions, recent procedures, cold sores or irritation — we may modify the peel or wait.
The days after
Downtime and aftercare
- Warmth, tightness, dryness, mild redness or sensitivity can be normal.
- You may flake or shed for several days — but you don't have to visibly peel for it to work.
- Gentle cleanser, plenty of moisturizer, SPF 30+ every day.
- No retinoids, acids, scrubs, picking, waxing, heat, saunas or intense exercise until the skin settles.
- I'll tell you when it's safe to restart your actives.
Going forward
How often
- Pigment, acne and texture usually respond best to a series, not one appointment.
- Sometimes the answer is to wait, prep the skin first, or choose a gentler peel.
- I'd rather adjust the plan than push skin that isn't ready.
Common questions
Am I definitely going to peel?
You may peel, flake or shed over the next several days — but you do not have to visibly peel for a chemical peel to work. Some peels cause very little shedding, while stronger or retinol-based peels may have more delayed flaking. Visible peeling is not the goal by itself.
Which peel is right for me?
I don't choose a peel just based on one concern. I look at your skin as a whole — what you want to improve, how sensitive or resilient your skin is, your current barrier, medications and homecare, previous treatments, pigment risk, and how much downtime you're comfortable with. Sometimes the peel you want isn't the peel your skin is ready for yet, so we may need to prep the skin or start more conservatively. If you're not sure, a Skin Consultation settles it.
How is the Retinol Peel different?
The results are more delayed than a traditional acid peel. Instead of doing all the exfoliating immediately in the treatment room, retinol continues working after you leave, so peeling and dryness may show up over the next few days. I choose it when I want to encourage deeper renewal, improve texture and pigment, and give the skin a more corrective anti-aging treatment over time.
Do you offer body peels?
Yes — a corrective body peel, priced by area. See Corrective body treatments.
Peels are listed by what they do, not by product brand. Timing and results vary by person.
